These days Google transmits more and more encrypted keywords. We can show you how to keep track of entered keywords. Instructions are also available as a PDF download.
1. Log in to Google Analytics
2. Click on “Administration”
3. Go to „Data View“ and click on „Filter“
4. Click on „Add filter“
5. Under “Add filter to data view” do the following:
a. select “create new filter”
b. fill in filter name, e.g. “np rewrite”
c. under filter type “user-defined” select “extended”
6. After selecting “extended”, do the following:
a. In Field A: select „ecampaignterm” and enter „(.not provided)“
b. In Field B: select “Requirement-URI” and enter „(.*)“
c. In Output in, select “Campaignterm”Kampagnenbegriff“ and enter „np – $B1“
d. Click on the boxes “Field A necessary”, “Field B necessary”, and “Overwrite Output field”
Changes are not applied retroactively, but only from the point of creating the filter. The filter does not prevent the encryption of keywords, but gives the landing page for the keywords used. Conclusions can be drawn from the respective landing pages about which keywords were used and how often they were used.
